Thursday, August 13, 2009

With healthcare providers looking for cost-saving solutions in the current economy, Medline Industries, Inc., the nation's largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies, announced today the signing of a cost management prime vendor agreement with Cheyenne Regional Medical Center based in Cheyenne, Wyo. The two-year agreement is anticipated to save the system more than $400,000 over the term of the contract. Under the agreement, Medline will provide its broad array of Medline brand medical and surgical products, including exam gloves, minor procedure trays, patient care products, disposable protective gowns, gauze, bandages, briefs and underpads.

Medline is expected to generate more than $7 million in medical and surgical product sales from the partnership over the term of the agreement.

"Medline is not only helping us reduce our supply costs, they are providing us with equal or   higher quality products than we had before, as well as a broader product line," said Arlene Flood,  Materials Operations Manager for Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. "In our effort to reduce costs, it is important not to compromise quality of care and that is why we selected Medline. They are providing us with outstanding value and service."

Medline will drive cost savings through delivering Medline manufactured products direct to the hospital from its distribution center in Denver, reduced distribution fees on other national brand products and product standardization.  In addition, Medline will also provide enhanced reporting capabilities and offer comprehensive product utilization and education programs to help the facility control costs and achieve maximum efficiency.
